Appalachian STEM Collaborative in coordination with AOP-20 and Southeast Ohio TechPrep/Successbound highlighting the best practices in STEM and Workforce Development. 
 
Some of the highlights will include:
  • Three Keynotes to Include:  Jamie Meade, Jim Mahoney, and Dr. Shannon Smith.
  • 24 Breakout/Learning sessions including two pathways specifically designed for the Arts and Agriculture(putting the A in STEAM).
 

News From the Region:

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, Lt. Governor Jon Husted, and Ohio Department of Education and Workforce Director Stephen D. Dackin has announced Ohio’s 2024 Business-Education Leader Awards for Excellent Business Advisory Councils. The Business Advisory Councils being honored demonstrate excellence developing professional skills for the future, building partnerships, and coordinating experiences, which contribute to preparing students for success.
From the Southeast Region we’d like to recognize the following Business Advisory Council’s in our area.

Ohio’s 2024 Four-Star Business Advisory Councils:

  • Building Bridges to Careers
  • Noble Local Schools

Ohio’s 2024 Three-Star Business Advisory Councils:

The Ohio Hotel & Lodging Association (OHLA) has a long-standing reputation for helping students explore and achieve their goals in the lodging industry and connect those promising students with hiring leaders in our industry. OHLA’s Education & Workforce Development Committee is proud to present the inaugural OHLA Hotel Summer Camp (June 5-7, 2024).

Ohio Perkins Local Application Workshops!
Southeast Workshop- Washington County Career Center- April 24th, 2024
The workshop will provide updates to Perkins V and support recipients working on SMART goals, Actions Steps and Root Cause Analysis in ED STEPS One Plan and the CCIP upload form which details a budget and budget narrative. All participants must bring their laptops and have access to working in ED STEPS One Plan to fully benefit from this workshop. Districts and postsecondary institutions may bring their Perkins team or prepare ahead of time and come alone.

The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, in collaboration with Ohio Association for Career and Technical Education, invites districts and schools to attend the 2024 Business Advisory Council Townhall July 15, from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Hilton Columbus Downtown.
