Welcome to the new and improved Southeast CPSN Newsletter!
Each month, we’ll use this space to celebrate the people, partnerships, and programs driving career-connected learning across Southeast Ohio.
And today, we begin with the biggest news yet — our region has officially been awarded funding as one of Ohio’s new Career Pathway Support Networks (CPSNs) through the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce and the Ohio Department of Higher Education!
This announcement recognizes what we in Southeast Ohio have known for years: our region is a leader in Career Technical Education. With more than 60% of schools offering CTE programs and over half providing middle-grade career exploration, the Southeast stands out statewide as a model for what’s possible when collaboration, creativity, and commitment come together.
The transition from our Tech Prep Regional Center to the Southeast Career Pathway Support Network marks an exciting new chapter — one focused on expanding opportunity, strengthening alignment, and ensuring that every student in our region has access to meaningful pathways toward a fulfilling and sustainable career.
Through this new network, we will:
Expand access to career exploration and CTE in grades 7–10 — especially in districts still building early exposure opportunities.
Enhance career advising and mentoring so that every student can connect their learning to real-world experiences.
Lead regional coordination and planning that align education, workforce, and community goals.
Build and strengthen partnerships among schools, higher education, business, and community organizations to grow and sustain impactful programming.
The Southeast has long been defined by resilience, collaboration, and pride in our people. This new chapter gives us the chance to take that to new heights — to lift up each other’s work, share what’s working, and make sure that no great resource, program, or partner remains a secret within our region.
If you’re doing something exciting around career exploration, advising, or CTE in your district or organization, we want to hear from you! Your stories, partnerships, and successes are what drive this work forward and help us build stronger connections for students across Southeast Ohio.
Thank you for being part of this journey. The momentum is here — and together, we’ll continue to lead the way in connecting Pathways. Partnerships. Purpose.
