Dear Educators and Administrators,
We are excited to extend an invitation to the New and Newer CTE Educator Professional Development Series, an initiative aimed at supporting the growth and success of CTE educators in the Southeast Ohio region. This series is designed for not only first-year teachers but also newer CTE educators who are eager to enhance their teaching skills and make valuable connections with peers across the region.
Who Can Attend?
– New and Newer CTE Educators: This series is open to teachers with varying levels of experience in Career and Technical Education (ideally in their first 3 years)
– Administrators: School administrators are encouraged to select educators from their teams who will benefit from this professional development opportunity.
– All Schools: This series is open to educators from all schools providing CTE programs, including Career Centers and Associate Districts.
Goals:
– Provide professional development for CTE educators (planned topics listed below).
– Facilitate networking and collaboration among CTE teachers.
– Showcase best practices and classroom innovations.

Session 1:
– Date: October 19, 2023 (Mid-East Career & Technology Centers – Zanesville Campus) OR October 26, 2023 (Buckeye Hills Career Center)
– Time: 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

- IEPs & 504s o Professional Growth Plans
- Work-Based Learning
- Program Advisory Committees
Session 2:
– Date: February 29, 2024 (Location TBD) OR March 7, 2024 (Mid-East Career and Technology Centers – Buffalo Campus)
– Time: 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
– Topics:
- Industry Recognized Credentials
- CTAGs & ITAGs
- CTSOs
- Quality Program Review
- Additional topics based on participant surveys.
To best serve the educators in our large region. Two cohorts will be developed, and workshops will be held in the East and West portions of our region.
Teachers from schools in the following counties will meet on: 10/19/23 & 3/7/24 –
Washington, Morgan, Perry, Monroe, Noble, Muskingum, Coshocton, Guernsey, Belmont, Holmes, Carroll, Harrison & Jefferson Counties.
Teachers from schools in the following counties will meet on: 10/26/23 & 2/29/24 –
Athens, Hocking, Highland, Adams, Vinton, Ross, Pike, Scioto, Jackson, Gallia, Meigs & Lawrence.
