Career Pathway Development Workshops

December 1, 2023 @ 8:30 am - 3:30 pm

Dear Educators and Administrators,

The Offices of Graduate Success and Career-Technical Education are excited to invite your district to the upcoming Career Pathway Development Workshops. The purpose of the Career Pathways Development Workshops is to equip school and district administrators with the knowledge, strategies and tools needed to create effective, quality career pathways for students. Additionally, our team has developed a workbook to help facilitate the workshop’s activities. Through interactive sessions and guidance, this workshop and workbook aim to foster collaboration, share best practices and provide actionable insights to design and implement career pathways within schools. Ultimately, the goal is to increase pathways through graduation, enhance student success, and facilitate readiness for future endeavors by preparing students for multiple options after high school.

The following workshops have been scheduled:

Southeast Region – Zane State College – December 1, 2023

West Region – Miami Valley CTC – December 5, 2023

Central Region – Tri-Rivers Career Center – December 6, 2023

Southwest Region – Hamilton County ESC – January 8, 2024

Northwest Region – Wood County ESC – January 16, 2024

Northeast Region – Corporate College East – January 19, 2024

Each workshop will be held 8:30am-3:30pm.

The workshop will focus on four main steps – gathering and analyzing data, applying data to make program decisions, exploring delivery options and developing a career pathway.  The workshop will conclude with ample work time for the attendees to map out a career pathway and action plan to develop within their district. Ohio Department of Education and Workforce staff will coach school teams through this process.

Districts must bring five to ten representatives to the workshop. It also is encouraged to coordinate participation with your lead CTPD, Educational Service Centers, postsecondary partners, business advisory council members/leads, and local workforce board member. Attendees will be asked to gather some data before the workshop to maximize our time together. Registration for each workshop is capped at ten districts to ensure each district receives proper support.
