Career Pathways Exploration Grant
Ohio’s Career Pathways Exploration Grant – Applications Now Open

At the FALL OCTA conference, we had the pleasure of listening to Matt Sheridan
(Mid East Career and Technology Center, Superintendent) and his team speak about their Careers in My Community Program. It’s such a wonderful program for young kids in grades K-6th to learn what kind of career paths are available to them as they grow up.

Sheri Fortune
CPSN SPED Consultant
sheri.fortune@ecoesc.org
I’m excited to begin my new role as a SPED Consultant, bringing more than 35 years of experience in social services and education. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of serving as a social worker, court diversion director, educator, principal, SPED Director, consultant, mentor, trainer, and adjunct professor. I look forward to assisting the Southeast Region and the CPSN team with items related to special education and work with students with disabilities.
Through collaboration, technical assistance, and ongoing professional support, I will work to help educational teams navigate special education requirements, implement effective practices, and develop programs that promote meaningful student progress. The work will emphasize inclusive educational opportunities and the importance of data-informed decision-making to guide instruction and services.
I value building strong relationships with educational partners and fostering a collaborative approach to problem-solving. I will be available in my role on a part-time basis and look forward to to empowering educators, supporting the work you do with students, and advancing positive outcomes for students.
I reside in Holmes County and have two grown sons, one living in Holmes County and one living in Cincinnati. One of my greatest joys is spending time with them, my extended family and time at the lake. I enjoy traveling, reading-belonging to a few book clubs, gardening, and recently have learned to play mahjong. I look forward to meeting, networking and working with the southeast region.
