|
As we wrap up 2025, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our Southeast CPSN partners and stakeholders for your support as we launch this important work. And a special thank you to our Steering Committee members for helping guide the vision for our region.
Looking ahead, our team is eager to connect with districts about pathway expansion—especially in the middle grades. If you’re planning for new VM courses, updating existing pathways, or strengthening career advising and mentoring, please reach out. We want to support your work and ensure we’re all moving toward our shared regional goals together.
With the holiday season in full swing, I hope you find time for rest, joy, and celebration. We are excited to step into 2026 with energy, purpose, and strong partnerships across Southeast Ohio.
And one more request—please continue to send us your success stories. We’d love to highlight the incredible programs, partnerships, and student experiences happening throughout our region in future newsletters.
Warm holiday wishes to you and your teams!

Please note!
Governor Mike DeWine has vetoed SB50 (Schaffer) REGARDING CERTIFICATE, WORK REQUIREMENTS – UNDER AGE 16. In his veto message, he noted that child labor laws have long allowed 14- and 15-year-olds to work after school until 7:00 PM, and that SB50 would have extended that to 9:00 PM on school nights. He stated that he does not believe it is wise for 14- and 15-year-olds to work that late on school nights and sees no compelling reason to deviate from current law.
At this time, existing youth employment laws remain in place, which means current work-based learning and student employment practices for 14- and 15-year-olds are unchanged.
